What is the Florida Second Chance Act & RDAP?

Out of the many programs that the government offers, we put a great emphasis on the Florida Second Chance Act and RDAP. The purpose of these two programs is to provide a preparation period outside of jail. Although these programs do not promise complete freedom at the time of involvement, these programs create a higher chance of ultimate freedom and hope for the future.

Second Chance Act

The Second Chance Act is a national program that allows inmates to spend their last period of time in a half-way house or authorized circumstance, such as home detention. This period typically ranges from 3 to 12 months. The program gives prisoners the opportunity to live in the real world and effectively practice and prepare to reenter society. In using the Second Chance Act, convicts can reunite with family while serving time. Because family separation makes an impact on the families, Jail Time Consulting will do whatever we can to help you prepare and apply for the program.

RDAP

The RDAP (Residential Drug Abuse Program) is not only a time to practice returning to the community; it is also a time of life-transformation. Due to excess drug abuse, particularly at this current time, many convicts struggle with drugs. The RDAP provides a safe environment for prisoners to overcome weaknesses and get their life back together. This rehabilitation program creates hope for inmates and gives them leverage to make a fresh start and find success in their lives and families.
