Consultation with your Legal Defense Team
Jail Time Consulting works closely with the client’s legal defense team to provide the client with the best possible net sentence. We are not attorneys. We do not take the place of your attorney. We work in cooperation and conjunction with your attorney if you request us to. We do not have to. Your attorney is charged with the task of preparing your case, negotiating possible plea agreements, and centering on the non-mandatory U.S. Sentencing Guidelines to determine your gross sentence calculation. Many are uniquely disciplined and highly qualified in arguing your case before the court and developing defensive strategies. But they are not adept at reviewing your Pre-Sentencing Investigation Report (PSI/PSR) for those inclusions that can affect you adversely in prison. We are. Also, most attorneys are not knowledgeable in the Bureau of Prisons’ policies, procedures, and Program Statements. How could they be, they have never been to prison! There are currently over 289 Bureau of Prison’s Program Statements. The staff of Jail Time Consulting is an expert in the BOP’s policies, procedures, and program statements. We keep up to date with all the changes in current policy as well as identify new laws and policies that affect defendants and inmates.
Jail Time Consulting identifies all of the client’s individual characteristics, traits, fears, and needs. We also ascertain and pinpoint the subtleties, nuances, and intricacies in our client’s case and cross references them against the over 289 Bureau of Prisons’ Program Statements to assist the client, his family, and his legal team in regulating and directing pre- and post-incarceration related issues. Jail Time Consulting starts immediately, before sentencing, to help the client take control of his situation, his life. This pre-sentence research is without a doubt one of the most important factors for the defendant. This is the critical time during which we assist the defendant in laying the solid groundwork and foundation for his designation to his preferred federal facility, for his admission into the 500-Hour Residential Drug Abuse Program, for his eligibility for additional halfway house and home detention time via the Second Chance Act, and for his securing the valuable inmate perks and upgrades and judicial recommendations.
The staff at Jail Time Consulting specializes in strategic federal prison planning and client positioning. Some of the Jail Time Consulting staff members have been through this process, have been to federal prison, and have experienced firsthand prison life. This allowed them to develop strategic programs and comprehensive planning to assist their clients in positioning themselves appropriately to take full advantage of these very same policies, procedures, and programs while in federal prison.
We work hand in hand with your legal team. Your attorneys work hard to provide you with the best possible gross sentence. We utilize the myriad of BOP programs to gain you the most favorable net sentence. The BOP’s sentence reduction programs are highly competitive and sought after. Defendants awaiting sentencing and incarceration need to fully understand the strategic planning and positioning required to be accepted into these programs. If you don’t, you won’t get in. There are just too many defendants and inmates that are vying for these spots now. Why take a chance, call us today at 954-522-2254.
