Individual Client Research — specialized projects for the inmate!

Doing time in federal prison isn’t easy. It is something that you do not look forward to but know that you have to do it. There is no way around it; you must do your own federal prison time. At Jail Time Consulting (JTC) we get to know our clients and their families. Everyone is unique. Each client has his own special circumstances, facts and events which brought him to this point in his life. JTC identifies all these circumstances, facts, and events and cross references them against the over 289 Bureau of Prisons’ Program Statements to assist the client, his family, and his legal team in regulating and directing pre- and post-incarceration related issues. JTC starts immediately, before sentencing, to help the client take control of his situation, his life. This pre-sentence research is without a doubt one of the most important factors for the defendant. This is the critical time during which the defendant’s Pre-Sentence Investigation Report is developed. The Pre-Sentence Investigation Report (PSi/PSR) or “Bible” as it is called is the single most important item in determining length of sentence, facility designation, security level, custody level, program participation, furlough eligibility, and inmate perks and upgrades among other things. Individual Client Research lays the groundwork for positioning the client in the best possible light for all these programs.

“Jail Time Consulting provides individualized client research for each of our clients. No two people are the same and no two cases are the same.”

We are not attorneys. Your attorney is charged with the task of preparing your case, negotiating possible plea agreements, and centering on the non-mandatory U.S. Sentencing Guidelines to determine your gross sentence calculation. They may be uniquely disciplined and highly qualified in arguing your case before the court and developing defense strategies. However, most attorneys are not knowledgeable in the Bureau of Prisons’ policies, procedures and Program Statements. How could they be, they have not been to federal prison! They are with you until sentencing, then they are gone. We are with you your entire period of incarceration, halfway house, and supervised release. We are with you when it counts. They are not able to position the client to achieve the most favorable net sentence. The staff at Jail Time Consulting specializes in strategic federal prison planning and client positioning. Some of the Jail Time Consulting staff members have been through this process, have been to federal prison, and have developed strategic programs and comprehensive planning to assist the client to position himself appropriately to take full advantage of the policies, procedures, and programs while in federal prison.

“Each client receives individualized attention. Our work is not a mass produced product, it is specific and customized for the client.”

Jail Time Consulting offers our clients individual client research on a variety of topics of their choosing. If a client needs assistance in only one area and is not in need of a total package of services, JTC will provide the required information in a written report format for the client and then assist the client in fulfilling his goals or objectives. For example, if a client only needs assistance for the Pre-Sentencing Investigation Interview, a flat rate price will be quoted. If a client is designated to, for example, Milan Correctional Institution, and the client requires information on specific subjects such as telephone regulations, visiting requirements, job opportunities, religious groups, availability of Unicor employment, recreational facilities, library or law library facilities, health services, rehabilitation programs, or any other such information, JTC will provide this needed information. We will also provide information and assistance on 2255′s, 2241′s and have an attorney referral network to assist inmates with these motions.   We provide services to determine why an inmate was given a Public Safety Factor (PSF) or Management Variable (MGTV) and determine if it can be waived or removed. Many times it simply means amending some incorrect or inaccurate information that the Bureau of Prisons has. We do PSI reviews to determine if errors were made which would affect your offense level or sentencing guideline range. We review to see that upward departures are accurate and applied correctly or if there were errors. We review all facets of the Presentencing Investigation Interview Report (PSI).

“We pride ourselves on our work and our success.”

Jail Time Consulting provides individualized client research for each of our clients. No two people are the same and no two cases are the same. Each client receives individualized attention. Our work is not a mass produced product, it is specific and customized for the client. We pride ourselves on our work and our success. For example, an inmate may have one or more detainers lodged on him. We have an Interstate Agreement on Detainers program (IADA) which will assist the inmate in taking care of these bothersome obstacles to release. Each client is different, each detainer is different. We prepare specific, individualized information for each detainer. An inmate certainly doesn’t want to wait until his release date to find out he is now being transported to a state facility to await additional charges. Our program eliminates this obstacle. Call JTC to help you with any special research or projects you need completed. We can help!

The Department of Justice and the Assistant United States Attorney’s goal is to administer what they feel is the appropriate justice and exact their “pound of flesh”. You need an advocate on your side, you need Jail Time Consulting.
